K2612 INTELLIGENT MOTHER
BOARD RS232 CONTROLLED
The VELLEMAN INTERFACE SYSTEM transforms your computer into a
POWERFUL STEERING AND REGULATING SYSTEM. One can use the system for steering
light shows motors time related devices for controlling alarm and security
installations for the automation of production processing etc. The interface
system consists of a mother board and interface PCBs. The mother board K2612 is
linked to the computer using RS232C. The interface PCBs represent the link
towards the outside world.
The system can be extended by means of 3 additional bus PCBs K2631 so that
up to 16 interface PCBs can be used.
This PCB has been designed for the automation of a large range
of measuring and steering functions in conjunction with a computer or terminal (which
disposes of RS232C or 20 mA current loop). Thanks to the powerful instruction
set (in the shape of mnemonics) the computer is discharged for the most part so
that time to execute other tasks such as data storage converting into diagrams
etc. becomes available.
For use as a control system the PCB should be continuously
connected to the computer. Time -specific switching is possible without
intervention by the computer since the PCB has its own clock. On all inputs an
alarm condition can be attached. Through here the mother board automatically
sends a message to the computer in case of an alarm condition. In order to avoid
dangerous situations (motors starting suddenly ...) when starting up or after a
power failure all outputs can be pre-programmed. The manual describes all
instructions in detail and also gives a number of practical examples.
