May-Contest-Report of DF0MTL-Crew:
In the may-contest 2003 our mtl-crew was again on mt. Hirtstein in JO60om. Also in this contest we was fighting against the weather conditions. On saturday we had very strong wind and lost two tents during building-up. So we had to reorganized the microwave station and lost many time at the beginning of the contest. The first hours we had terrible conditions. In the night the condx was going up and in the morning we had a little tropo to north and north/west. On 13cm, 23cm and 3cm we worked with the backup- rig (without pre-tests), this was necessary while the main-rig will be rebuild. Some Operators could not take part, so we used a "light" rig also on 2m (2x8el/300watts) and 70cm (1x39el/400watts). With the backup-station on 3cm (40cm-dish/5watts) we had some problems with the jumping oscillator (sorry for some broken skeds) and so we had no exact direction for 24G. The result: not so many points as expected, but some vy nice dx-qsos on microwave. Many tnx to all station who calling us - and cu on microwave-contest in June de df0mtl.
